Sizing Guide
Getting sizing right with Chinese brands trips up a lot of runners, mostly because each brand labels its sizes a little differently and most online advice is out of date. Here's what actually works for the two brands we sell, based on the brands' own size runs, lab measurements and real runner feedback.
Quick answer
Match on your US size, not your EU size. Qiaodan and Li-Ning both label EU sizes in their own way, so the EU number on your current shoes won't line up. Your US men's size is the reliable reference for both brands.
If you're between sizes, or have a wider foot, go up a half size. When in doubt, size up, especially for a training shoe. A slightly roomy shoe beats one that's too tight.
Step 1 - Measure your foot (2 minutes, no guessing)
- Measure in the evening. Feet swell during the day, and even more during long runs
- Wear the socks you run in
- Stand with your heel against a wall on a piece of paper
- Mark the tip of your longest toe
- Measure from the wall edge to the mark in centimetres
- Measure both feet and use the larger one
- For running shoes, add 0.5–1.0 cm of room in front of your toes (roughly a thumb's width)
Step 2 - Find your size
Qiaodan (including the Leili 2.0)
Qiaodan uses conventional half-size EU steps (40, 40.5, 41, 42…). Find your US size, then pick the matching Qiaodan size:
| US Men's | EU (Qiaodan) |
|---|---|
| 6.5 | 39 |
| 7 | 40 |
| 7.5 | 40.5 |
| 8 | 41 |
| 8.5 | 42 |
| 9 | 42.5 |
| 9.5 | 43 |
| 10 | 44 |
| 10.5 | 44.5 |
| 11 | 45 |
| 12 | 46 |
| 12.5 | 47 |
| 13 | 47.5 |
Only know your foot length in cm? Find your US size in the Li-Ning table below, then use that US size here.
Li-Ning (including the Red Hare and Feidian ranges)
Recommended foot lengths for Li-Ning men's sizes:
| Foot length (cm) | US Men's | EU (Li-Ning) | UK |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24.0 | 6.5 | 39 | 6 |
| 24.5 | 7 | 39 2/3 | 6.5 |
| 25.0 | 7.5 | 40 1/3 | 7 |
| 25.5 | 8 | 41 | 7.5 |
| 26.0 | 8.5 | 41 2/3 | 8 |
| 26.5 | 9 | 42 1/3 | 8.5 |
| 27.0 | 9.5 | 43 | 9 |
| 27.5 | 10 | 43 2/3 | 9.5 |
| 28.0 | 10.5 | 44 1/3 | 10 |
| 28.5 | 11 | 45 | 10.5 |
| 29.5 | 12 | 46 1/3 | 11.5 |
Heads up: the same US size carries a different EU label in each brand. A US 9 is EU 42.5 in Qiaodan and EU 42 1/3 in Li-Ning. They're the same size on your foot, just written differently. Don't convert from your usual EU size; go by US size or foot length in cm.
Step 3 - Check the model's fit notes
Qiaodan Leili 2.0
- Platform: wide base with high sidewalls, so it feels planted rather than pinched
- Length and width: from our demo pair, we found it true to size. Message us and we'll help you choose if you're unsure.
Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Ultra
- Length: most runners true to size
- Width: snug through the midfoot, roomier in the heel and toe
- Wide feet: consider going up a half size
